Before you start your e-scooter adventure, it’s important to understand how to ride safely, considerations for others, and some of our rider requirements.
- Riders must be 16 years or older.
- Riders must wear a helmet in compliance with Nova Scotia Motor Vehicle Act- Helmet Regulations . Helmets are available free of charge and will be delivered to your scooter location upon request to our helmet request line, 902-577-3469. Sydney e-Scooters is not responsible or liable for any rider found in non-compliance with the Nova Scotia Motor Vehicle Act- Helmet Regulations or for any fines or legal action resulting from non-compliance.
- Riders must comply with the CBRM By-law regulations and are responsible for any ticket or fine associated with non-compliance.
- Only one rider per e-scooter.
- Riders must accept the Rental Agreement available through the HFX e-Scooters app, before they can rent an e-scooter.

Tips to consider
- Always slow down and give right-of-way to pedestrians.
- When possible use bike lanes.
- Use your bell to let people know you’re near.
- Use signal lights when making a turn.
- E-scooters are not allowed on Public Transit, on the highway, Whitney Pier or in Membertou.
